www.RaiderRadio.com was started by Bloomington High School
student John Twork during the summer of 2004.
John's goal was to broadcast Purple Raider football and
basketball games on the internet so people unable to
attend could listen to the play-by-play. Raider
Radio was
created with the assistance of Bloomington District 87 Technology Director, Jim Peterson.
During November 2004, John totally redesigned the
website to make it more visually appealing and user
friendly. |

The former and first
play-by-play "Voice of the Raiders," John Twork, is a freshman at
Eastern Illinois University. Since he was about twelve
years old, John
has been very interested in play-by-play sports broadcasting, and he
wants to pursue a career in broadcasting after college. Inspired
by former play-by-play "Voice of the Illinois State University Redbirds"
and current "Voice of the University of Colorado Buffalos,"
Mark Johnson, by the "Voice of the Chicago Cubs,"
Pat Hughes,
and by the "Voice of the University of Illinois Fighting Illini,"
Brian Barnhart, John strives to make his
broadcasts as descriptive and easy to understand as possible. |
